DESCRIPTION

The Cathedral of Lucca, known as the Cathedral of San Martino, dates back to the 6th century and is the oldest basilica in the whole of Tuscany. The façade was built in Lucca’s typical Romanesque style with multi-coloured marbles. In the three-nave interior, there are works of art such as: the Enthroned Madonna with Child and Saints by Domenico Ghirlandaio, the Last Supper by Jacopo Tintoretto, and the funeral monument to Ilaria del Carretto by Jacopo della Quercia.
