Living Longer, Living Well: Secrets of the Mediterranean broadcasted on PBS’s Health Channel was partly shot in Florence

Hosted by Frank Licari, the new South Florida PBS program premiered on The Health Channel on February 14, 2024. On a quest for the key ingredients to a long and healthy life the show takes viewers through Italy and Greece to discover the potential of the Mediterranean diet and lifestyle. Part of the programme is dedicated to Florence and features local olive oil producers, professional tasters, and a local chef.

Location

The episode on olive oil was filmed in September 2023, for a couple of days downtown Florence and in the nearby Grassina, in the municipality of Bagno a Ripoli, where filming took place on the Olivart farm.

Synopsis

While exploring Tuscan landscapes and the culture of olive oil tasting, Frank uncovers the benefits of one of the healthy pillars of the Mediterranean diet and the positive impact of the rejuvenated olive groves on the local community and on the planet. The program is now available online for free public viewing.
