DESCRIPTION
Villa La Ferdinanda in Artimino was commisioned by Grand Duke Ferdinando I de’ Medici and built by Bernardo Buontalenti between 1596 and 1600. It is also known as the Villa dei Cento Camini because of the many, variously shaped chimneys, that cluster on the roof, as all the rooms were individually heated. Today, the undergroup rooms house the Museo Archeologico Comunale od Artimino. Privately owned, the villa is recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
