DESCRIPTION
In the early 1700s, a picturesque neighbourhood was created in Livorno to facilitate the transport of cargo to the harbour. It was called Venezia Nuova because of the little bridges, canals and small squares which evoked the atmospher of the lagoon city, while the elegant palaces for the merchant class answered the need fot the storage warehouses.
Every August, for over thirty years, its streets and canals become the backdrop for Effetto Venezia, a festival that includes street shows, concerts, exhibitions and banquets featuring traditional recipes.
