DESCRIPTION
South of Siena are the famous Crete Senesi, a range of hills and woods created by water erosion in the clay and sandy sediment a million years ago. In this ‘lunar’ landscape are small centres dating back to Medieval times: Asciano, Buonconvento, Monteroni d’Arbia, Rapolano Terme and San Giovanni d’Asso.
