Tuscany will be represented in the various sections of the Festival by a number of prestigious projects filmed in the region, including a documentary supported by the Tuscany Region&#8217;s Cinema Film Fund.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Noah Baumbach&#8217;s new film <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt30446847\/\"><strong>Jay Kelly<\/strong><\/a>,<\/em> starring <strong>George Cloone<\/strong>y and <strong>Adam Sandler<\/strong>, is in competition. The cast also includes Laura Dern and Alba Rohrwacher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\nngg_shortcode_0_placeholder\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The movie, which will be released on Netflix on 5 December, follows the story of two middle-aged friends (Clooney and Sandler) who rediscover their youth during a rather turbulent weekend. Between comical mishaps and moments of intense emotion, the two friends are forced to come to terms with themselves and, finally, to mature and become adults. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Filming also took place in Tuscany in May 2024, lasting two weeks and covering <strong>Montecatini Terme<\/strong> (railway station), <strong>Arezzo<\/strong> (Teatro Petrarca), <strong>Pienza<\/strong>, <strong>San Quirico d&#8217;Orcia<\/strong> and <strong>Pitigliano<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the Out of Competition \u2013 Cinema and Music Special section, there will be a preview screening of the documentary <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt37660877\/\"><strong>Piero Pel\u00f9. Rumore dentro<\/strong><\/a><\/em>, supported by the Tuscany Region&#8217;s Cinema and Audiovisual Call for Proposals. The intimate story, directed by Florentine director <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm2050734\/?ref_=tt_ov_1_1\">Francesco Fei<\/a>, focuses on a crucial chapter in the life of Italian rock icon Piero Pel\u00f9. With a subject and screenplay by Pel\u00f9 himself, the film is produced by Apnea Film, Nexo Studios and DNA Audiovisivi and will be released in Italian cinemas only on 10, 11 and 12 November.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.toscanafilmcommission.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/francesco-fei-doc-piero-pelu-1.jpg\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-Ug2uB1Wf\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"731\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/www.toscanafilmcommission.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/francesco-fei-doc-piero-pelu-1-731x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-132822\" style=\"width:445px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.toscanafilmcommission.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/francesco-fei-doc-piero-pelu-1-731x1024.jpg 731w, https:\/\/www.toscanafilmcommission.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/francesco-fei-doc-piero-pelu-1-214x300.jpg 214w, https:\/\/www.toscanafilmcommission.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/francesco-fei-doc-piero-pelu-1-768x1075.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.toscanafilmcommission.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/francesco-fei-doc-piero-pelu-1.jpg 1080w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 731px) 100vw, 731px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Also out of competition \u2013 TV Series will present the eagerly awaited series <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt29457135\/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_2_tt_8_nm_0_in_0_q_Il%2520mostro%2520\"><strong>Il Mostro<\/strong><\/a><\/em> by <strong>Stefano Sollima<\/strong>, due to be released on 22 October on Netflix, which recounts the brutal murders committed by the Monster of Florence, one of the most famous cases in Italian crime history. Filming took place partly in Tuscany in November 2023, over a period of about ten days.
