The filming also took place in San Gimignano and in Gaiole in Chianti with beautiful Renaissance settings

Rosaline is an American production by Disney and by 20th Century Studios and it is based on Rebecca Serle’s 2010 novel, When You Were Mine. The movie is a fresh comedic twist on Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet, with the classic love story now told from the perspective of Juliet’s cousin Rosaline, who in the film is Romeo’s ex-girlfriend.

The movie, directed by Karen Maine, will premiere in 2022. Meanwhile, actress Kaitlyn Dever, known for her lead role in 2019’s Booksmart opposite Beanie Feldstein, unveils first official photo from Rosaline.
