Can this love be translated?: the series filmed in Tuscany on Netflix

All episodes stream from Jan. 16, 2026

Can This Love Be Translated?, a new K-drama coming to Netflix on Jan. 16, 2026, asks this essential question as it follows an unexpected blossoming relationship between a multilingual translator and a global celebrity. As they travel the world filming a TV show together, their relationship grows, but, as can happen when two people become more entangled (even if they speak a common language), their feelings towards each other can become more difficult to understand.

Location

The series was shot partly in Tuscany between November and December 2024. The set involved Siena, Montalcino and Florence for a week.

Credits & Cast

The series is written by the renowned Hong Sisters, Hong Jung-eun and Hong Mi-ran (Alchemy of Souls, Hotel del Luna) and directed by Yoo Young-eun (Bloody Heart). It stars Kim Seon-ho (When Life Gives You Tangerines, Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha, Start-Up) as Ju Ho-jin, a multilingual translator fluent in English, Japanese, Italian, and more, and Go Youn-jung (Resident Playbook, Sweet Home, Alchemy of Souls: Light and Shadow) as Cha Mu-hee, an actress who became a global star through her role as a zombie.

It also includes Sota Fukushi (As the Gods Will; Bleach; My Tomorrow) as Hiro Kurosawa, a Japanese actor who joins Mu-hee on a dating TV show.
