Cosima Spender’s documentary follows the world-renowned Tuscan performer on tour in America and Italy
One of the world’s greatest singers, Andrea Bocelli has a voice that transcends genres and generations. In this intimate portrait of the acclaimed Italian tenor, Bocelli, for the first time, tells his story in his own words. Documentarian Cosima Spender follows Bocelli with unprecedented access beyond the footlights to reveal an uncompromising artist and devoted family man with a fearless passion for living.
The film event will be in Italian cinemas from 21 to 24 September.
Through interviews, archival performance footage, and informal gatherings with family and friends, Andrea Bocelli: Because I Believe celebrates the voice — and man — who continues to touch the hearts of millions of listeners around the world.
Location
Filming took place in 2023 in the United States, Italy and the United Kingdom, with editing and post-production in London. The set in Tuscany, with Florentine executive production company Dado Production, involved two weeks of filming between March and July in Forte dei Marmi, Lajatico (Teatro del Silenzio) and Florence (Fondazione Bocelli in piazza San Firenze).
