DESCRIPTION

The origin of the National Central Library of Florence goes back to the private library of Antonio Magliabechi, consisting of approximately 30,000 books and donated to the city of Florence in 1714. The Library was originally located inside the Uffizi complex. In 1935, it was moved to its current location in the monumental area of the Santa Croce complex, a rare example of library building.
