How to get there by road or rail
- By train: the Carrara-Avenza station on the Rome-Genoa line is linked to the port by the urban transport service.
- By car: if coming from the North, take the Carrara exit on the A12, turn right following the indications towards Marina di Carrara, turn left at the traffic light on the seafront, proceed for roughly 4 kms. If coming from the South, take the Massa exit on the A12, follow the indications for Marina di Massa/mare, turn right when you reach the seafront, then proceed for roughly 6 kms.

How to get there by road or rail
- By train: the railway takes you directly to the port, the Piombino Marittima - Campiglia line links to the Genoa - Pisa - Rome line and therefore also the E 80 Coruna - Narbonne - Ventimiglia - Rome with junctions at Pisa for Florence - Lucca - Pistoia and Bologna.
- By car: if coming from the North, A12 Motorway to Rosignano, continue on the E80 until you reach the Piombino exit, follow the indications for the "Porto". If coming from the South, take the E80 North direction, exit at Piombino, follow the indications for the "Porto".

The units in transit entering and/or exiting the port must keep a safe distance of at least 500 m from the red marker buoy; once inside the waters of the port keep a safe distance of at least 200 m from the zone where work is being done and divers, and proceed at a minimum speed to avoid the formation of wash inside the port (Ord. n° 92/01 and subsequent modifications of the Circomare Piombino). |
