Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri wins big at the Golden Globes

Fatih Akin’s In the Fade has triumphed in the Best Foreign-language Film category

the 75th Golden Globe Awards took place in Beverly Hills, California, to acknowledge the best films of the year that has just drawn to a close, according to the votes of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. As the predictions had been hinting at recently, Martin McDonagh’s UK-US co-production Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri [+], already awarded (with the Best Screenplay trophy) at the latest edition of the Venice Film Festival, was a big winner at the ceremony. This time, the film took home the Awards for Best Motion Picture – Drama, Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama (for Frances McDormand), Best Supporting Performance by an Actor (for Sam Rockwell) and, again, Best Screenplay (written by the director himself).
