DESCRIPTION

Approximately 20 km from Florence, at an altitude of 817 metres, stands the Sanctuary of Monte Senario, which dates back to the 13th century and was founded by the Religious Order of the Servants of Mary. The Sanctuary consists of a Church, three Chapels and a Convent. Around the Sancuary, there are natural caves, where the Founding Friars lived. Under the floor of the panoramic terrace, from which you can enjoy the view of the Mugello valley and the Tuscan-Romagna Apennines, there is an impressive cistern for rainwater, desired by the Medici.
