DESCRIPTION

The Museo e Rifugi S.M.I. (Italian Metallurgical Society Museum and Shelters) is an example of industrial archaeology created at the beginning of the 20th century at Campo Tizzoro in the Pistoia mountains. The museum itinerary unfolds inside the SMI industrial plants. The air raid shelters are well-preserved and were dug out during the Second World War, to a depth of  approximately 20 metres, with reinforced concrete, and extend over an area of more than 2 km.
