DESCRIPTION

Piazza della Signoria has been the political heart of Florence since the Middle Ages until today and its surrounded by some of the city’s most famous buildings, among which Palazzo Vecchio traditional headquarters of the Florentine government. The Loggia dei Lanzi dominates the square and is an opea-air museum of sculpture with masterpieces such as the Perseus by Benvenuto Cellini and the complex marble Rape of the Sabine Women by Giambologna.
