DESCRIPTION

The Cathedral of Pistoia, also known as the Cathedral of San Zeno, is the main Catholic place of worship in the city and dates back to the 11th century. The cathedral has a Romanesque-style façade with two marble statues of the patron saints, St Zeno and St Jacopo. The Cathedral’s interior is divided into three naves separated by columns, a raised presbytery and a crypt. Among the works of art kept here: the large wooden Crucifix by Coppo di Marcovaldo and the silver altar of St Jacopo.
