DESCRIPTION
The Castle, which dates back to the second half of 12th century, stands between the Apuan Alps and the coast of the Tyrrhenian Sea. The building has a quadrangular layout with four round towers, a semi-circular bastion, two internal courtyards, arcades and terraces. Still today, the Castle belongs to the Malaspina family and hosts a museum, a cultural centre dedicated to contemporary arts and a residence for artists.
